Essential Beach Packing List items

At Fit 2 Trip we’d like to share with you a list of the things that you can not miss in your beach bag, so you can fully enjoy your day.

  • Towel: There are many types of towels, so choose the one you like the most and tie it at your waist to save space in your beach bag. When you get to the beach, extend it facing the wind backwards and fix the corners with weight so that it does not fly and get sand on it.
  • Flip-flops: Avoid going to the beach with closed shoes so you don’t have to be removing the sand from your feet every two minutes. Also avoid going barefoot if you do not want to end up jumping through the sand like a kangaroo because your feet are burning.
  • Comfortable clothes: We recommend you to wear your bikini or swimsuit from home so you don’t  have to get changed on the beach, and to wear some comfortable clothes on top. Jeans and tight-fitting garments are not recommended, since moisture and sea salt can cause chafing. You can also bring a swimsuit or spare underwear to avoid going home wet or if you decide to stay for dinner at a nearby restaurant.
  • Sunscreen: UVA rays have become more dangerous and skin cancer is becoming more frequent, so it’s better to stay protected.  The ideal is to wear a sunscreen for the body and another for the face, because the face is more sensitive and it can get irritated or greased if we don’t use specific products.
  • Sunglasses: While sunscreen protects our skin, sunglasses protect our eyes. Although they are a little bit more expensive, we recommend you buy sunglasses that have a UV filter, so they don’t damage your eyesight.
  • Cap or beach hat: Essential to avoid getting sunstroke and avoid burning the scalp.
  • Comb: If you comb our hair every time you get out of the water, it we will be easier to untangle it at the end of the day.
  • Parasol: Essential if you are going to spend more than two hours on the beach. Make sure it’s well stuck in the sand if you don’t want to end up running down the beach trying to catch you flying parasol.
  • Folding chair: Recommended to be more comfortable and avoid getting dirty with the sand. Another option is to bring an inflatable mat and put the towel on top.
  • book or magazine to relax and pass the time
  • Water: It is very easy to get dehydrated on the beach so make sure you drink plenty of water. You can take it in a canteen or in a small portable cooler so it doesn’t get hot. You can also bring fresh fruit like watermelon or cherries.
  • Airtight plastic bag (you can use the typical sandwich plastic bags) to store your phone, wallet and other valuables that you don’t want to get damaged.
  • Googles, tube and fins to enjoy the sealife.
  • Beach bats, a volleyball ball or a deck of cards to have a great time.
