All of our policies have an exclusion that prevents you from claiming for any circumstances known prior to purchasing a policy or booking a trip that may cause a claim. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that Coronavirus (COVID-19) reached a pandemic state. Therefore, it is reasonably foreseeable that it may give rise to a claim.
Consequently, for any new or renewed travel insurance policy, we will not cover any cancellation claim, where:
- you cannot travel or choose not to travel because the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) advises against travel, due to a pandemic.
- you cancel your trip, and the reason for cancelling is not included in the "Cancellation – What is Covered" section, including but is not limited to, an event you were due to travel to being cancelled, or your change in desire to travel.
We will cover your medical costs related to Coronavirus, provided you have not travelled against the advice of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) or other medical advice.
Any new policy purchased, or trip booked in the annual multi-trip policy will benefit from all other coverages, except the above, including emergency medical costs, cancellation and baggage.
